Here is my trusty bolt-action .22 that has given me years of service. It was my father-in-laws and then my wife's. I refinished it for her when we were dating (* gulp * - when Jimmy Carter was President).

Nice job, looks great. Refinished a model 87-D ( circa 1952 ?) for my daughter over 20 years ago......looooooong barrel / tube feed. now wears a 10x tactical scope.provided its bolt and firing pin is cleaned every 150 or so rounds,it works great......does NOT like CCI STINGERS...American eagle .38gr.hp are very accurate.

I own and shoot a lot of old .22's and found most of them function and shoot better with standard velocity ammo. I just got an old Mossberg 151 semi auto and it won't even feed CCI blazer ammo, but loves the standard stuff.

The 84C my son has shoots like a match rifle. He got it as a gift when he was about 12 years old. No trigger guard. Soon after a spoon was missing but his 22 now sported a trigger guard.
