Anyone ever hear of using 308 go/no go gauges to headspace a 6.5 or 6 creedmoor? Was talking to a guy on another site and he has some savage rfiles in 6 creedmor for sale. I asked about who headspaced them and he said he used 308 gauges which seems way off to me. Did a few google searches and didn't come up with anything. Am I missing something?

My understanding is that they are different! I’m going to guess about 0.08 difference off the top of my head.

No, 308 has a 20 degree shoulder and creedmoor has a 30 degree. Also headspace length is longer for the 308.

Maybe he was confused and he was talking about a 260rem and not a 6.5CM
243 win/ 260 rem / 7-08 rem / 308 win / 338 fed / 358 win, all use the 243/308 win go-no-go gauges.
