I'm going to build a rifle using the Axis II in .308. This is a first time experience for me so I'm looking for advice. I plan to use the factory barrel and the accutriger and plan to buy a Boyds stock and bed the action. I also plan to use either a Nikon or a vortex scope in 4-14 power. I have been shooting most of my life and have a model 10 predator in .223 and a model 10 compact .243, both great guns but I am looking to learn more about the sport of rifle shooting and thought what better way than to start with a budget build. With gift cards a got for Christmas the gun being on sale and the savage rebate I am out of pocket about forty bucks for the rifle with a weaver scope. What does everyone think?

I have the same gun in a Boyd's varmint stock. I should have gotten an upgrade on the recoil pad, and I would like to get a target spring for the trigger. You will like it.
