How hard is it to replace or install a new barrel on a Savage 110? Is there a place that sells replacement barrels? Or is it best to just have a gunsmith build one for you? I'm looking to build up a rifle for long range shooting. Right now the gun has a .22-250 barrel on it but I'm planning on switching the barrel out to a .260 Remington. Thanks

It very simple, a few special tools (action wrench, barrel nut wrench, and head space gauge) is all you need to remove the barrel. There are ton of people offering replacement barrels, I am one of them along with a couple others on the board. Swapping to the 260 rem is a very simple swap from your 22-250

Several of the people here sell barrels.
Also Pacnor, Shilen, Kreiger and others etc
Midwayusa sells savage barrels ready to go with no wait.
They are out of 260 rem barrels.
If you hang around here long enough you will probably find a used one in the classified area.

Takes about 10 minutes to swap a barrel once you have the tools.
Pretty easy really, just make sure you use a go-gage no-go gage and set the
headspace properly.
