Just got my stock from Joel Russo. I just need to get the time to finish it now. I think it turned out great!` The darker wood is African Bubinga and the lighter wood is figured or curly Anigre.

Fantastic!! What do you plan to finish it with? Joel had emailed me some pics of the Bubinga boards awhile back and it looked incredible. That is another fine piece.

I used my own materials to make the blank and then sent it to Joel to make the stock from this blank. I used 19 large parallel jaw clamps during the glue up. I have supplied Joel with some of his materials, as I sell figured hardwood and exotic lumber.

It is set up for a RBRP TA. It will wear a 28" Brux in HV contour.

I would like to know what kind of finish you are planning on too. Gloss, semi, satin, flat? Lots of possibilities...

I will first apply an oil finish, hand sanding it in a few of times to fill the pores of the wood. Bubinga really comes alive with this type of initial process. After about a week to allow the oil to fully cure, I will shoot a top clear coat on it. I am still trying to decide if it will be a gloss or a satin. This is a not a carry rifle per say, as I built it for prone shooting at distance. I have some sample pieces that I will experiment with before deciding which finish to spray on this stock.
I will not do anything though until this blasted heat subsides. It has been a miserable summer to say the least here in north Texas.

You will need to contact Joel about pricing as it varies by style and other things. He is really easy to talk to about anything.
