I bought a Savage 10 FCP in 223 from Cabela's

It came with a 4 round detachable box magazine ... any chance I can get a larger capacity magazine?

Can I change out the bottom metal to accept another higher capacity mag?

Thanks
Wayne

You could always graft a PMAG lower onto the existing magazine if you want a project. This is for an Axis, but should be generally the same. Holds 14 rounds...

Anyone ever dealt with these guys?

They make aftermarket mags for Savage

It's more or less what I did, but just all metal and likely nicer....and $$$. But I think they work great.

Accurate-mag. They make replacement bottom metal that will accept ai style mags for savages. They have a 10 round mag for 223. I would suggest calling them to see if they will put a package deal together for you (bottom metal and mag)

AICS bottom metal from CDI or Accurate-Mag (make sure it's the correct bolt spacing. 4.2" or 4.4").

Then get a MDT 223 magazine.

Done !!

Center to center distance of the 2 big action screws holding the receiver to the stock. Not much difference between 4.2 and 4.4, but it's noticeable.

Thank you ... the action screw to measure was under the bolt release button just outside the trigger guard ... didn't even notice it was there at 1st ... the action screws measure 4.4 inches ...
