Is there a difference in any of the savage 10 models in 308? my friend bought a savage 10 SBA from dicks but was looking for the savage 10 fcp-sr, they only had the SBA version but it was 100$ less, the thing i really want to know is there a difference in accuracy between the two? i know the SBA doesnt have a detachable magazine but thats the only difference i see. I'm in the same boat but if i can save 100$ for basically the same rifle just sacrificing the magazine im ok with that. Also on the SBA it looks like theres an insert at the bottom that could be removed and maybe able to install a magazine plate/well?

Some rifles have 5R rifling, bull barrel versus couture, length, etc. Just look it up an savage web site if its posted for the detailed information. Dicks, cabelas specials aren't usually on savage's web site though. If everything is the same minus magazine, no reason why not to save 100 bucks. For me, I have to have a magazine. To each there own.

So is 5r rifling better than 6r? and if so is there even a noticeable difference?

Best for you to google both and decide for yourself. Am happy with my 5R rifling in my 308. Can put 5 in a dime at 100 yards with my pet load I developed. Once you decide, then next step after getting a rifle is to find out what bullet it likes. Good luck.
