Need help identifying:
Serial #:21.112 (1902 I think)
Savage 303 on octagonal 22" barrel.
Sights are: Savage Arms #18 peep, Lyman Flat Folding #6, probably a "Jack" dovetail front sight.
Stock: Plain straight stock with steel shot gun butt plate with no serrations. Delicate Schnable forestock.
No other markings visible with out disassembly.
I would think that this is a short rifle this except for the octagonal barrel.

Thanks in advance to you guys. Looking forward to this site as I have other 1899s.

Only model I found with a full octagon barrel was the 1899B, but that was a 26" barrel. Maybe barrel was cut off?? Shotgun butt was available on the is model.

Barrel looks to be original but possibly shortened. If so, someone did a nice job, even milling the groove for the sight.
