New Savage 99 owner... does it get any better than this?

For many, many years I've wanted a Savage 99 levergun, a forum friend of mine sold me his 99F in .308. Based on the SN, it was made in 1966, so it's almost as old as me (11134XX)

This will pair up nicely to another Savage I got a year or so ago... my Model 10 TAC in .308.

Although it came with a scope mount and rings, I've already taken them off... what would the hot setup be for a peep sight? I have Williams peeps on all my Marlins, but I know nothing about the Savage 99.

I have Skinner sights on my Marlins, but not sure if the make them for Savages.
