My 12br in 6mmBR came with a chattered chamber shoulder.
Rebarreled with Criterion 6br
I use mine in 600yard benchrest. Holds in the high threes at 600yards.

There are several variants of the model 12s as they have been around for a couple of decades now and as with most products there have been some variants and changes along the way.
Pretty sure you're referring to one of the newer factory "target rifles".
Really can"t comment on that particular variant other than to say it came from the factory with all the right parts to be stupid accurate.
I have one of the older model 12 BVSS varmint rifles in 22-250 that will stack 10 rounds of hand loads into a spot the size of a dime at 120 yards with ease.

Well, the benchrest and the F-class have different stocks. The F Class has a buttstock that is parallel to the forend which makes returning to POA much easier in an F-Open front rest and rear bag type setup. The benchrest model has a slanted buttstock. I've never shot benchrest so I'm not sure about that disciplines stock requirements. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this when buying a stock for my F-Open rifle and I bought the BR version. I ended up building a piece to attach to the bottom of the buttstock to make it parallel with the forend and while it works, I'd much rather have the F-class stock. Other than that, I enjoy my dual port model 12 PTA and have determined that I'm the weak link in my setup and not the action.

I've got a 12 VLP originally it was a 22-250 that shots better than anything I've ever owned. It didn't like factory ammo but with my reloads it was a legit 1/2 an MOA gun. Best group I ever shot .305 5-shots 100yrs. Have since converted it to a 6.5 Creedmoor. Almost regret swapping barrels the thing shot so good.
