Nice, I would like a DBM rather than a HFP. I put mine in a Model 14 wood stock and added the DBM so mine is perfect now. Shoots great, looks great.

The one I am looking is a DBM with Accustock .I have heard pros and cons on that stock.

What arguments stand out. Most of the people I have heard from love them.

I have a couple of them and love them. My 116flcsak in 30-06 is my favorite hunting rig and stupid accurate.
I know the 6.5 is all the rage right now, but depending on your recoil tolerance and what you'll be hunting, A .270 pushing a 130gr bullet right at 3200FPS is darn hard to beat for a medium/large game hunting rifle. Also most any wal mart or rural gas station is gonna have ammo available just in case.
To each his own but I thought I'd throw that out there.

Thank you and you are right .270 is a great round ,I shot it for tears as my main deer rifle.Just looking for something new.

Liked mine a lot. Only had one. It was a weather warrior in 7MM Magnum...the older stainless, fluted, 22" with on/off brake. Very accurate!!

Just curious as to what made you choose the 6.5 Creedmoor? I am on the fence between a 25-06 and a 6.5 Creedmoor and am asking opinions of people who own both calibers.

If you are on the fence between a 25-06 or a 6.5 Creedmoor, I would suggest taking a look at the 270. Hornady and Nosler both introduced some relatively high BC bullets that make the 270 a good choice.

I shot a 270 Winchester wt. for years and have a 308 and 7mm-08 ,I guess I just wanted a new toy.

The 270 is a great round but one of the reasons for a new rifle is something with a little less recoil. I already own a 308, 30-30 and a 300 Win Mag. After that my next caliber down is my AR-15 in 5.56. I want something in between the 30 caliber and the 5.56. The 270 is an awesome deer round but I find the recoil to be more than the 308.

The rifle will be used for Hog and Deer hunting probably within 100 yards but most likely no more than 200. Anything further out or any bigger game would be a job for one of my 30 calibers. I also want it to be a range toy for 500-700 yard target shooting. I know both the 25-06 and the 6.5 Creedmoor will work for all of what I want the rifle to do if I do my part. Now just deciding which one I want. My opinion is the 25-06 will be traveling faster and have more ft lbs of energy out to 250 yards for better hunting results. Everything I read tells me the 6.5 Creedmoor will be better if I want to step up to 1,000 yard target shooting. At 500 yards the Creedmoor has more ft lbs but the 25-06 has less bullet drop. I think either caliber will work for my intended purpose. Just a matter of personal preference.

Do you have a good set of shooting bags?
I haven't got any experience with the 6.5 so I have no clue on the most likely bullet weight or load for your twist rate.
Here's something I do to fine tune that may help.
http://www.accurateshooter.com/technical-articles/savage-action-screw-torque-tuning/
also I have noticed several of my new Savages have gotten better and better after *break in* and getting a few rounds down range.

*(Not trying to start a "debate" over the pros/cons of break in but I'm a believer)*

Thanks ,I always use bags to shoot.I read the article sounds like good advice as of now I have it at factory torque.
