stevens 200 stock hold heavy barrel??

can a stevens 200 stock be hogged out to hold a savage varmint weight barrel???

Yes sir. At the moment i have a savage varmint contour 223 barrel in my factory stevens stock. I just used a piece of sand paper wrapped around a 1in dowel and sanded away till i had the proper clearance.
