New barrel

Just received an email from Apache that my barrel is in the mail and expected on 9/14. This was ordered on 6/15 so please no more complaints about wait times, I have waited a year for a barrel.
When I first contacted Jim I told him no hurry whenever he got around to it as long as it was before 02/01/18.
In case any are wondering it is a 6x45 X caliber SS full cylinder, small shank.
I would expect that it will be flawless like my past barrels that Jim has done.

I think he drives a Dodge, thus the need for a spare rear axle shaft. :p

No Ford F150 and the axles are just fine thank you. It is a 2008 ten years old and have not turned 34000 miles yet. And no that is not a typo.

I think I'm going to have you beat in the low mileage contest. My truck will b 4 in December and currently has less than 12,000 miles on it. Apparently I need to get out more. lol

If you don't mind me asking, what rate of twist did you decide on and what weight bullets do you plan on shooting? I've always been fascinated by the 6x45 ever since I shot one on a prairie dog hunt. It was a 1 in 9" twist and shot 60 and 70 grain sierra Varminter and BlitzKings good enough for consistent hits inside 300 yards in the wind. I'd be interested in hearing how the rifle performs once you have it up and running.

Huh! Did not know that. I always heard the first thing to wear out on a Dodge was the hood latch.

Jim we are both averaging right around 3k a year, if I wasn't now driving 16 miles a day 7 days a week to check on my mom at the nursing home I'd be under 32000. This Ford will rot out before it wears out.

Wildcat I ordered it in 8 twist, going to start out with 90 gr. SMK's and see what happens. I also have 85 gr. and a bunch of 105's but not 100% sure I can get the 105 up to speed for accuracy, but I will enjoy trying. I am retired so it gives me something to do with my time.

WBM it used to be the crank shafts, but in recent years according to a friend who just retired his front end shop it is now their upper and lower ball joints.
