David Royal's recent book A Collectors Guide to the Savage 99 Rifle (https://www.amazon.com/Collectors-Guide-Savage-Rifle-Predecessors/dp/0764350269) is money well spent to as it has plenty of good photos and in color cover to cover.

EDIT: Oops! I was thinking of Bill West's Savage and Stevens Arms & History being thinned out, not Murry's book. Sorry about that.
