I am in the process of ordering parts for a varmint rifle build utilizing a dual port Savage 223 target action. Can anyone please tell me if the target actions come drilled and tapped for scope mounts?

They do.

Thanks Robinhood! I figured they probably did, but wanted to make sure.

Most of the dual ports have different action screw location spacing than single port which becomes an issue for stocks

But you can drill and tap the action to fit. I've done this on a stainless dual port target action.

Its far enough apart then to have a clean hole?

yes but be careful.

those screw holes go all the way through the action. the screws will most likely need trimming. If not they will block the bolt from closing and the front one will go into your barrel threads.
