Hey all, new guy here. Name is Chris and I have a question I'm hoping y'all can help me with. I'm new to Savage rifles but just inherited a 110e series k that was is now on it's 3rd gen in our family. Serial is C170455 which I believe was made around the late 70's. I'm trying to replace the stock with a Boyd At One. I see it's a top bolt release and it doesn't have a detachable mag. According to the savage manual for the rifle it's either a detachable or hinged(blind) mag. Looking at the diagram I found it looks like the hinged mag should be mounted on the outside of the stock but this rifle is solid wood with no mag or chamber showing. My question is is the hinged mag hidden behind the stock or should it be showing?

Yours, built in 1976, would be classified as an internal box magazine or blind magazine depending on the stock manufacturer. There is no hinge.

You have a blind magazine, if it were a hinged floorplate, it would be outside the stock. Measure your action screw spacing, it could be a first generation short action, depending on caliber. A first generation short action will measure 4.522" center to center from the front action screw to the forward trigger guard screw. A long action will be 5.062".

perfect, that's the confirmation I needed to order the At One. Thank you very much. Pretty excited to get this rifle dialed in put a few rounds through it.

it's a 30-06 and measures just over 5 inches from front action screw to front trigger guard screw so it's a LA
