Just retired from the Army, and this is first time in my adult life I've had time and to dedicate to learning and shooting my civilian rifles. I'll say this up front, I'm a candid person (bluntly honest and to the point) and prefer the candor of other folks...

..since I'm new to working with and shooting my rifles, it's been a struggle. I've owned my weapons for a long while, however my past profession required so much attention and energy, I couldn't/wouldn't devote time to learn my rifles. No that I'm retired and devoting time to research all the current civilian rifles and accessories..my head can start to spin..technologies has exploded in past 5 years..

..i would greatly appreciate wisdom from shooters on here, particularly target shooters. I don't hunt. I have no desire to kill anything anymore. I enjoy rifle shooting the most. I use rimfires .17 and .22 to maintain skills required to shoot at longer ranges. I've found, especially with the .17 HMR, it's a perfect caliber for through the fundamentals of longer range shooting at a fraction of cost of big bore rifles..i can still work on all math, scope manipulation etc..

..due to disabilities, I can't shoot in prone. I have severe spinal injuries and titanium for a right femur, which restricts,e to shooting while sitting at a bench. This has been frustrating so far.. I use a bipod and sock filled with rice for rear support..learning to bipod shoot has been a process in itself, I didn't get allot or reps in Army using bipod.
