Decided to chuck the weaver scope bases and go with an EGW rail. So scope and weaver scope mounts have been removed and I am now waiting for EGW scope rail to be delivered.

Nice. Any reason you decided to do a 300 blk on a long action?

Most importantly the price was right on the flatback LA. I really like flatback actions rather than the round actions. Plus stock options are better with the long action bolt spacing of 5" than the intermediate action bolt spacing of 4.5"

First trip to the range I was having problems with the 300 BLK rounds nosediving in the MDT magazine after the 1st round was chambered. I tried a work around of placing 4 empty 223 cases before loading the 300 BLK rounds into the mag. That kept the BLK rounds from nosediving in the mag.

I ended up pulling the mag apart and squeezed the spring with needle nose pliers next to the follower so that the spring was canted to the front as shown in the following image. That has solved the nosediving of rounds in the mag.

How did it shoot?

How did it shoot?

Not to my expectations yet. Only shot 35 rounds, 5 of which were zeroing, rest load development 5 shot groups. Noticed that after 3 rounds barrel heat seem to be affecting POI. The Spear 125gr TNT are a proven load in my MSR upper so that combination might be better with different loadings. The 110gr Barnes AAC300s are the start of different rounds that I have loaded up to find the best combination.
