I just bought a NIB Savage BVSS in 22-250. Any thoughts on what I can re barrel to and still use the blind magazine?

Any thoughts on what I can re barrel to and still use the blind magazine? You may lap the factory barrel in... you will be impressed with the 22-250 accuracy... it's is a flat, fast round... I use 35.6 grains win748, 55gr eld, cci lr primer and at 300 yards it's nothing to hit the same hole... 500-600 yards quarter sized groups

I would imagine just about anything you want. You would have to get another magazine and just pull the bottom plastic off of it. The bolt should fit all of these:

Short actions with a bolt face .Dia of .473 +/-
225 Winchester
22/250 Remington
6mm Norma BR
243 Winchester
250 Savage
260 Remington
6.5/284 Norma
7/08 Remington
284 Winchester
300 Savage
308 Winchester
338 Federal
35 Remington
358 Winchester
6 & 6.5 Creedmoor
6.5 Lapua
6XC

Thank you for the information. I don't understand about the magazine bottom. Are they specific to calibers?

You can change that blind mag box for a few bucks also, if you find something that takes a different box.

If you look at the "magazine" in the current gun notice it's just a shell that is part of an existing detachable magazine from other Savage guns. For the blind magazine they just remove the plastic bottom part that holds the spring in. You should be able to buy an existing magazine for whatever caliber you want to convert to and remove the bottom cover. Although I would check the stock cavity size, etc....
