Ok, so while on the phone today with Savage, I got to speak with Effie, in the Custom Shop.
I asked Effie, if it were possible to have an FCP 10 HS Precision in 300 wsm built. She said it was!
Gonna have my dealer call her tomorrow and line it up!
I am really stoked about this. Im a way I wish I knew I could do this before I bought the 16 Bear Hunter. But, then again, I love 300 wsm and really, really like the Bear Hunter rifle so far. Nuthin wrong with havin a couple in the same caliber I reckon.

Back to the wsm magazine thing. If you put it in a H-S precision you can use factory 3 rd CF magazine and DBM. And you can probably load out to 2.900 +or-

Do you mean put my 16 Bear Hunter in an HS Precision stock? And what exactly are CF magazines?

I realize dbm is detachable box magazine.
And isnt the action on the 16 bear hunter built around 300 wsm? Allowing loading out to 3.0 ?

I will defer the differences in action between a 308 and a WSM for some one more knowledgeable than me. As far as I now there is none. Thanks to Hotolds we now know that the WSM feeds in a 308 magazine. Note that Savage makes one specifically for the Center Feed (CF) WSM barreled actions. There is no external difference between your model and any other model 10 based action that I know of. Your barrel is the larger diameter threads but you won't see it except for the barrel nut. Other wise it fits in any other stock a model 10-16 fits with respect to the bolt release location. BTW your bolt head is longer than a standard bolt head, the front baffle is a little shorter on the right side as well. Again no impact on stock fitting. your magazine will fit right into any factory bottom metal weather it is a hinged floor plate or a DBM. There are two HS stocks that will fit your action. One is a tactical and one is more of a hunter type. I only focused on the HS because I thought you had mentioned it. There are other options also.
