barrel swap question

Will 6.5 creedmoor barrel from a savage model 10t-sr with a small shank fit on one of my savage model 12`s either a fv 308 or a bvss 22-250. Thanks

My understanding is they are small shank (10 and 12) magnum and lrp target are large shank, am I correct in my thinking ?

If they are factory barrels, just look at the barrel. The large shank should have a step down profile near the threads. Best to measure them with calipers.

Small : 1.055" diameter

Large : 1.120" diameter

Always good to check but as noted, your calibers are not the candidates for large shank and should be standard.

Short Magnums are large shank now, not before (I don't know what date that changed, last few years) .

Magnums are large shank now, not before. That has been gradual so you can have fairly new with either (they may be ALL).
