Been thinking of getting a Poly Twist barrel.

Similar to the old Polychoke on shotguns.

Just twist the knob at the barrel end and it changes from a 4-inch twist to a 40-inch twist and anything in-between.

Could make it automatic. Operate on recoil.

Set it loose for the first shot and let it tighten on every shot as the target gets further away.

Start at 14-inch twist, next shot at 12, third at 10, fourth at 8, and fifth at 6-inch twist.

Load magazine accordingly.

Could it be reversable (tight to loose) for those hunting dangerous game? Or would that require a complete second unit?

How about one that switches from RH to LH twist when you switch the direction you aim (N vs. S) to account for the rotation of the earth?

Be careful!

If you twist it too much, you'll end up with a carbine barrel.

Only in Hammer's active but "twisted" mind.

You have to use super "PoliGrip," to secure the barrel nut when using poly barrels, due to the twisting it is the only thing that will keep them together.

Here is the instructions on how to apply. http://www.mypolicare.com/Poligrip_AdhesiveUse.aspx
