Scope screw pitch?

Can anyone tell my what tap I need to chase the scope base screw threads on a savage 10 T-SR receiver..?

The scope base mounting screw size... Is it 8×40?

Standard Savage I believe is 6-48. That's not a common tap size.

Some convert them to 8-40, I think Bronwells has a kit for that.
