I think I read somewhere that when you oder a stock from them, you need some additional parts, something for the magazine well? Trigger guard? Not sure, I heard its something small that they charge you with another $16.00 shipping charge. I did a search but couldn't find anything on this,

It depends on which rifle you're ordering the stock for. If you're talking Axis, then there isn't any additional parts you have to order. If you're talking the 110/111/112.... Then there is "Bottom Metal" that you have to order from Savage. The Laminate stocks use the bottom metal for Wood stocks, therefore you have to order the Mag Well housing, and the new metal bottom for the magazine, as the mag has a different locking mechanism. The Triggerguard doesn't have to be replaced, but I wanted metal everything, so I replaced it too. Total cost is about $150.00 including shipping.

I always recommended getting a steel or stainless trigger guard as an additional item from Boyds. The Axis stocks ship with a plastic trigger guard, but steel is a better base for pillars (if you install them later, Boyds doesn't do pillars). If you ordered the trigger guard from them separately, they charged you $16 for shipping. I haven't bought an Axis stock from Boyds in a while as I don't like that particular product quite as much anymore. Still, if you search their site for "Savage Axis Trigger Guard" you should find the part I mean.

I'd get the metal trigger guard. IIRC Boyds ship with a plastic one which gets the job done but isn't the prettiest.

I got the stainless steel trigger guard. The plastic one is cheapo. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170717/8b4da125cc34ca8249860823019544a9.jpg

I'm ordering a stock for a 22-250 and a 223, I assume they are short actions?
