Love this caliber. Buds has Axis in 6.5 Creedmore for under $300 shipped. Thinking about getting one by the end of the year. If anyone here owns one or has shot one please let me know what you think of it.

I have one. It's a standard Axis: terrible trigger, cheap stock, long action irrespective of chambering. I did a "super stock" version where I shimmed the trigger, installed a cheek riser, and I may have put Rockite in the wrist. I brought the super stock along to shoot alongside a full custom Axis in 6.5 Creed at long range. Really there was no comparison at 100 yards or 1000 yards, but it was up against a much more developed gun. I suspect that by using a lighter trigger spring I could close the gap a bit, but it would take a lot more to really eke the potential out of the cartridge.

.308 y ?
i have multiple .308 and wanted to get into a budget 6.5 gun seemed like the best option vs re barrel a rem 700 action .

I converted a .308 axis to 6.5 creedmoor using a x-caliber barrel and Boyds prairie hunter stock and rifle basix trigger-would have been cheaper to buy premade creed but no fun in that.
need to spend more range time though to give any reports

Racer55 - Who did your barrel? Thinking of doing the same to my 270 Win and there seems to be a lot of good talk on X-Caliber barrels

Chris, your Creedmore did just fine!! Don't let him fool you he was banging steel at 1100 yards.

I bought the barrel from "Rosco" here and installed it myself with headspace gauges from Brownells and tools from amazon=action wrench and nut wrench, have barrel vice as well but didn't really need it.
