A local consignment shop had a good number of old Shooters Bibles, from 1969 to 1982. What a HOOT! The articles and ads are really something.
Being curious about the 170 series, I looked through the catalogue portion and found that the 35 Remington was added in 1978.
Additionally, the ad spoke of the actions being hardened in locking areas of the bolt and receiver, and that the actions were vibration polished. It also listed a 1-12 twist for both the 30-30 and 35 Remington.
Ah, the good old days! 35 Remington ammo was $ 8 a box...
