Anybody doing a barrel in 22 Nosler?

I would be more interested in necking the 22 nosler up to 6mm to run the 105 grain bullets so that way I wouldn't have to swap the bolt head out of my T&T 223.

22 Nosler is using a rebated rim, right? Is it a completely new cartridge or is there a parent case? Sounds as if they are trying to get 22-250 performance out of a .380 bolt face.

The purpose is to be able to run 22-250 speeds in an AR15 Platform. Sure you could use it in a bolt gun just the same.

Here's some reading material: http://www.shootingtimes.com/ammo/breakthrough-fastest-22-cartridge-ever-for-the-ar-15/

The .22 Nosler is kind of pointless in a bolt gun. As Lonewolf noted, the whole point of the cartridge is to try to come closer to getting 22-250 velocities out of an AR15 platform. The AR15 platform limits the case head and cartridge OAL dimensions. Bolt guns don't have the case head limitation so if you're looking for more speed than a 223 it's silly to half-ass it with the Nosler when you could just as easily go to a 22-250 or 220 Swift (factory ammo), or 22-250 AI, 22BR, or 22-243 AI if you roll your own and aren't concerned about factory ammo availability.

This concept is not new.....when the 6.8 SPC came out, there were guys necking them down with dismal results.

I will have to look at my pick up collection.

I think I have a 375 HH that was necked down to 22 caliber. Forget what its called. $5 a round as I recall.

Some dropped an expensive cartridge and left it just for my benefit!

Not there is the way to get zippy!
