They've been on golf balls forever. I know they been incorporated in to wheels, helmets and jerseys for elite cyclists. Any reason someone hasn't tried to incorporate them into a bullet to increase efficiency of flight?

Interesting. The article looks to be 8 years old. The article reports the findings as quite positive. I wonder why we haven't seen anything work it's way into the commercial/civilian market.

Yep. A Book by Dr. McCoy called Modern Exterior Ballistics covers this quite deeply.

For supersonic flight, the tail angle is king, then the ogive. Meplate and bearing surface is almost irrelevant, despite the garbage "Just the tip" line given by a certain bullet company....:rolleyes:

Thanks for the recommendation. That book's not inexpensive. Maybe I'll request my local library procure a copy.
