Reloader 19 in the 358 winchester anyone ? Loads needed

is anyone loading the 358 winchester with Reloader 19 ? Looking for jacket bullet loads.

You said nothing about bullet weight. Reloder 19 is a little on the slow side from what I remember. IMR4895, H335, H322... In general there are many powders that will get you there and there is a wide variety of boolit weights.

RL19 is way to slow of a powder for that cartridge, my best results in a 358win are with IMR-3031 with all bullet weights. Hope that helps you out.

Just to clarify, Slow powder is not referring to fps if there is some confusion. Reloder 19 has a burn rate that is not ideal for that cartridge. That being said the only powder that Aliant shows for the 358 Winchester is Reloder 7.

Hodgdon lists these powders for a 225 gr bullet. Benchmark, BL C(2), H322, H335, H4895, Varget. Add some including 3031 for the heavier bullets. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

45gr of RL19 isnt going to get you very good performance, my go to 358win load is 48gr imr-3031 & 200gr spitzer. a faster burning powder is needed w/the relatively small case and large bore of the 358win. its all about expansion ratio, smaller case & larger bore = faster powder, larger case & smaller bore = slower powder. thats about the simplest way to explain it. you just cant fit enough magnum powder in that case to make it work properly. AA2520 or Varget are about the slowest powder id use in that cartridge and thats with a 250gr bullet. with 200gr or 225 grain imr-3031 is the ticket, people say Ramshot Tac works well also, and so does imr-4895 & H322. just keep away from the slow burning powders. i hope that helps.... (btw, 358win is one of my favorite rounds, i have alotta loading experience with it)

Played around on Quickload for a minute and it doesn't look like there is enough capacity to generate max pressure with RL-19 in the 358win.

But in case you wanted to know...

Max with 200 grainers is around 59 gr RL-19

Max with 225 gr is around 55 gr RL-19

Max with 250 grainers is around 52 gr RL-19

This was with traditional Cup and Core Jacketed bullets...
With the Barnes TSX/TTSX max was a few grains lower.
