All I can say is... WOW!! The ESS Chassis has far exceeded my expectations!! I have been through several stocks, both wood and synthetic, as well as a number of different chassis. This ESS Chassis from MDT, is absolutely phenomenal!! Like the title says, if you haven't already... YOU SHOULD!!

Nice scope clearance.

There is actually more clearance than it appears. There is a full 1/8" clearance just with the caps, lots of room with just the objective.

I am a huge fan of MDT's chassis'. I own two of their Tac-21's and will be buying a third for my "winter project". Everything on that chassis is quality right down to the thread inserts they put in the holes for the screws that secure the forend. Not just that but the holes are purposely misaligned a few thousandths so when properly torqued in place the parts are forced together with absolutely no chance of error.

I don't own an ESS Chassis but I'm sure that the same quality and attention to detail I see in the Tac-21 carries over to that chassis.

Another reason I'm high on MDT. EVERY TIME I've had a technical question and sent an inquiry through their website I have received an answer either on the same day or on the next business day. There is also a followup e-mail asking how I would rate their response to my inquiry. Other companies should take note. I'm still waiting for a response from a major scope manufacturer I sent them about two years ago and followed up about once per month for a year. Luckily it wasn't a matter that would bring about the end of life as we know it so I just let it slide. MDT has it right.

Other than a little hefty in the weight department, it is by far the best MDT Chassis I have had my hands on. I thought the HS3 was impressive, but this one blows that away!
