M93 .17 HMR misfires Question

This is my first post in the rimfire section as I am mostly a centerfire guy. A friend of mine asked me this morning at church to look at his M93. He says he is getting more misfires than otherwise and that the case head shows a light strike. Anyone else with this problem? Where do I start to help fix his rifle? I am familiar with this model since I have a left hand M93. Mine has been flawless and very accurate, so I was surprised to hear he had this issue. The only issues I have know of were magazine feeding issues and extraction problems. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Remove the Spring clip, Firing pin, extractor, and guide. Clean the bolt head and parts really well. Inspect the slot that the firing pin sits in and the pin itself for burrs or anything out of the ordinary. Polish any questionable spots, reassemble and symptom will probably go away. I have not had one with the issue but have a friend that did this and his will misfire maybe 1 out of a hundred now. Hope you find the issue.
