i just bought savage mark II gl from field and stream store. non accu trigger . but 149. after rebate . could not pass it up. came with tasco scope and has grooved receiver for scope rings. i was wondering thoughts on best path of action. in getting most out of it. bought some ealey match some cci sub sonic . and have some cci standard . i am a center fire guy but want something i can grab and practice with without reloading. any hints would be helpfull thanks.

With the pencil barrel I would put it in a chassis, or start the work of bedding the stock if you really want to squeeze everything out that you can. I would start with a couple boxes of less expensive ammo down the tube then start looking for what pills she likes best. Then buy a large amount of that ammo from the same lot. Go shoot the crap out of it and enjoy.

My mark I I. Heavy barrel loves Remington subsonics. Can do little finger nail holes all day long.
Great for head shooting rabbit and squirrel.

How about just taking it out and shooting it first to know where you're at before blindly throwing money at it? Biggest thing with any rimfire rifle is just finding what ammunition it prefers.
