Anybody finding any suitable load data for it anywhere? Looks like 243 Win starting loads and going up from there will work.

What bullets are you looking at?

Start at 40 grains of h4350 and a 105-110 g high bc bullet. That should put you around 2900-3000 fps. Experiment from there. You really don't need to push them that hard; less than 3100 fps is easy on brass and has plenty of horsepower. As far as published load data goes, it's a wildcat. Some places may have it but word of mouth is your best bet.

It is going to be close to the .243. You can check at the Accurate Shooters Forum and over at Snipers Hide as I know there is data at both places. Getting a 6mm Creemdoor barrel put on my Surgeon action right now and was looking for data. Found that the load most were using with the 105s was about .2grns different than the one I use with my .243.

Still don't understand the point of this cartridge in a bolt gun.

I run the HBN Coated 115 DTAC RBT with 41.5-42grs of imr4451 from a 25" 7 twist XCaliber. Throat dimensions were set up for .090 freebore and run it 20thou off the lands getting 3015fps. My goal was to find a node between 2975-3025fps. I'm still shooting hornady brass, but only see about 7-8 loadings before primer pockets go. I would go straight to the 110SMK and start at 40.5grs of H4350 or imr4451.

Supposedly better barrel life than 243 with no great sacrifice in performance. Also the ability to "chase the lands" as they start to erode.

It does seem to drop into a fairly well populated "group" of 6mm cartridges. I'm strongly considering adding a 6XC barrel to my rack. Or maybe a 6 CM. Why? Because I can I guess.;)

I shot out 4 barrels in 243win. I'm on my first barrel with 6 Creed and it has been not only more consistent, but has also produced better velocity throughout it's life so far. It fits better in the mag and feeds smoother than the 243 case for me. I get less brass stretch and don't have to trim cases as often.

That being said I've grown tired of 6mm's and them being a bit finicky for high round count matches especially when you start getting close to 1500rds on a barrel. I love how the 6mm runs, but in order to have something more consistent to shoot for a longer period of time I'm moving over to the 6.5x47L. At the end of the day the 6.5 gives up about 1 mil in elevation and .2 mils of wind to the 6.
