A fellow shooter with a Savage FTR rifle has removed the center trigger safety on his Accutrigger. He says it allows him to adjust his trigger pull down to around 4oz. He says, for competition it has been 100% reliable and no AD's. Has anyone else heard of this?

A friend of mine does it and it does allow a better feeling trigger, however he closes his bolt SLOWLY!!!!

Sure. Why not?

Blade just blocks the sear from falling, does not affect the mechanics at all. Of course, if the trigger is not set right, or too low, it will ALLOW the sear to fall even if you don't touch the trigger. BUt if the trigger does not fall by itself with the blade in place, removing the blade won't change that. Just be careful.
