Help!?

Hello All, I don't know if this is a no-no, but hope someone can help. I am having a problem with the bolt of a Cooper .223 that I own. The problem is that every once in a while the bolt de-cocks when I pull the bolt back after firing. I just spoke with the lead gunsmith at Cooper and he said I have to send the bolt in for repairs. He said the problem is with the bolt body. There is a flat head screw at the back of the bolt that needs to be all the way tight, but when I tighten it the problem becomes worse.

Does anyone have any recommendations of what I could do myself to alleviate the problem?

You can package it up and send it to Cooper, yourself!! If they're willing to fix it, why the dilemma?? Just send it in and get it fixed right!

The dilemma is that I think I may be able to address the issue myself.
