Savage Plastic stock upgrade to Boyds, or modification

I am thinking about putting the Varmit stock from Boyds on MY mk11-fxp, but am worried that the taper barrel will look goofy on the stock designed for a bull barrel. Can't seem to find pics of one fitted online.

My reasoning for doing this is that the LOP is to short and I feel pretty cramped. If I raised the comb and got a thicker recoil pad that would work as well. Anybody have an opinion on a good recoil pad option?

If you go through the custom build option on the Boyds stock you can specify the LOP you want. They charge you a little more for non-standard, but it's less than the cost to upgrade to a thicker pad. Personally I wouldn't waste any time or money trying to improve the factory plastic stock.
