I purchased a brand new Savage 110 FCP in 338 Lapua magnum. Let me just say my wife is gonna hate this gun. She is not anti-gun…she bought me my Beretta 92F and my Uzi… but I now have a new love. This thing is a blast to shoot. I couldn’t wait to replace my reloading scale (which died on me) so I loaded with a scale that did now have the sensitivity to give me consistent loads (kept powder loads well below max). Besides during break-in you can use crap ammo. My ammo gave me muzzle velocities +/- 50 FPS. Even with crap ammo and a bad cheek weld it shot 1 MOA at 100. After shooting the crap ammo a bit I opened my box of Hornady 285 grain match ammo. My scope sits up alittle high for the HS precision stock so my cheek weld was iffy but it shot ½ MOA when I reproduced my sight picture. I have a new adjustable cheek pad, new reloading scale, 100 300 grain Sierra matchkings, 100 Lapua brass, and 2 lbs H1000 powder…life is good. :smile-new:

I also have a 308, 243, and a 7mm Rem Mag.

a 600 yard range available to me every day.

Congrats. I picked one up from someone selling one on this site for a great deal. Been wanting one since selling my 50BMG. Love it. Was going to get the stealth version but the longer barrel will help with long distance shooting. Want to do the 1 mile challenge after I get comfortable. Found my load with H-1000. One for regular shooting and one for the 1 mile shot. Tried Retumbo but was getting over 100 fps difference than published data. H-1000 was spot on. Nice to have a 600 yard range. My local range goes to 200 yards max. Looking at joining a private range to shoot 1000 yards. Have this rifle and a savage 10T. Both are awesome rifles. Post some range pics when you can.
