If anyone is interested a model 11vt will use model 10 bottom metal to avoid using the axis mags with the plastic clip with no or very little modification. I have a video on YouTube just search Savage 11vt bottom metal.

Yes, it will work. I replaced mine with the model 10 bottom metal and use an extended 10 round mag.
