Hi everyone,
My name is Tom. I've worked in EMS since 2007 and am back in school for nursing. Married. No kids yet but we have a really chill Australian Shepherd. I currently do not own any savages but have been researching them in my down time. I probably won't have the time or money until after school but I hope to get an FLCP-SR. I'm cross dominant and am learning to shoot left handed with my BLR 22-250. It's a fun rifle. I've been taking it out to the desert to coyote hunt and am realizing how much I enjoy it. I'd like to get a big game rifle and and appreciate the erector set mentality of Savage rifles. It'd be cool to have a rifle that will swap calibers easily.

I've been reading this board for a while and finally registered. Thanks for all the experience that gets shared on this board. It makes a huge difference for us novices.

Welcome Tom.
If you want rifle that will change calibers easily look at the AR platforms...swapping calibers doesn't get any easier than that.

Never found changing calibers that hard with a Savage. Also, no need to play with a barrel nut to get a gas tube to fit, or for that matter getting a stuck gas tube out of the gas block without crushing it.

You may not have to set headspace but the AR platforms bring their own set of issues. Also, not limited to AR-Mag COAL's with a bolt action Savage.
