View Full Version : What stock for Target Action build?

I would love to build a single shot deer rifle using a Savage Target Action.

My understanding is that I could set the trigger at around 3 lbs. for hunting, correct?

And I should be able to have a 22" or 23" long sporter contour barrel on it, shouldn't I?

I'm posting this to ask for suggestions about where I could acquire a fairly lightweight, composite, sporter-style stock for this rifle. I would want a true single shot stock, not one with the stock milled out for any type of magazine. Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a stock like this, without me going the pure cu$tom route?

Thanks in advance for any help you can share.

I don't know where you will find a stock like that off the shelf. Maybe the factory or Numrich.
As for the target action remember they are large shank so it is also a different than standard barrel.
Try to find a model 12 Varmint single shot they are still around and you get what you want.

No problem, I have two of their stocks and think they are a great value.
