Greetings! My name is Louie, and I live in upstate, New York. For anyone not from N.Y., most of the horror stories you have heard about our idiot "Safe Act" Laws are true. (Hwever my father sister, and brother-in-law live in Pa., which is close to my home, so I keep some of my non-compliant weapons down there!) If the Liberal's could ever organize themselves into a cohesive group, rather than drooling all over themselves in their safe zones, we'd be disarmed, "...in a New York Minute." (By the way, I don't live within 250 miles of NYC, and I've never been any closer than 75 miles!
I've spent the past 50 years shooting everything from .22 single shots, to .50 Cal "Ma-Deuces", in Viet Nam, where I was a gunner on a Gun Truck, escorting convoys from Qui Nhon to Cambodia, and from Ban Me Thout to Kontum in the Central Highlands. My favorite weapon was the M-134 we had mounted in the turret. I was sent down south for training on the weapon, and it was my "baby" for my last five months in Country. If you're not familiar with it, it's an electronic Gatlin Gun that was manufactured by GE, and can fire up to 6,000 rounds of 7.62mm NATO rounds. However, we tuned it down to 3,000 rounds because we simply couldn't carry enough ammo for a sustained firefight!
As a Police Officer, I carried a standard issue .357 S&W with a 4" barrel until I went Undercover, then I carried a .357 S&W with a 3" barrel; boy do I wish I still had that piece back! I also kept a Remington 870 with a pistol grip, which came in very handy on several occasions! After several years I "came in" from that ass. ignment, and worked Criminal Investigations, and was issued a Baretta 92F, which I liked, but I preferred my good old 357!
Now days, my wife and I are able to enjoy life one day at a time, with no long range plans. The mortgage is paid, so is my Chevy Diesel and our 5th Wheeler, so we use our retirements to ejnoy our hobbies, and love looking at life, "over the hood of our truck." There's more to add, but that'll come with time. I'm also open to any questions anyone has.
