Bolt wont always cock

I just bought my first savage model 110 30-06. after checking it out i realised that the bolt only cocks when the muzzle is pointed down, and if its cocked and i point the barrel in the air it will un-cock it. never have seen this before. ive pulled it apart and to me it looks perfect. but than again this is my first savage bolt action.

any help would be appreciated,

The trigger return spring is either adjusted to low , or it is missing.

so if i pull the bolt back and the trigger is loose, than the spring is missing?

and if not how to i set the return spring?

Thanks i got it figures out, th espring was just loose and wasnt ingaging the trigger.

Yet another accutrigger that can't engage the sear with a light trigger pull... my bet is that you haven't seen the last of your problems, unless you tightened the heck outs that spring.
