Model 11 Scout

I had a Remington 700 BDL 30-06, for 40 years, it was stolen last year, along with 6 other rifles and 2 shotguns, and after looking and reading, I went with the 11 Scout 308 to replace the 06
did a couple of changes

I hope the scum that cleaned you out have one of those negligent discharge Remington moments to their face. I hate a thief.
If you wanted a rifle in black, you certainly achieved it :) I too prefer the scope in the traditional position.
Hopefully you now have a nice safe for it to call home when not in use.
For those that don't have a safe, something functional can be had for the price of a single decent rifle or decent optic.
Security upgrades are a whole lot more effective before the fact.
