New member here.....great site. I've already learned a great deal about Savage rifles. I'm considering getting a Duramaxx stock for a rifle with a sporter weight barrel. I realize it will be extremely free floated and am wondering if it will look funny. Does anyone have a pic with this set up. I'd like to see how it looks before ordering. Thanks

I don't have any pictures but assure you your sporter barrel will have quite a bit of clearance all the way around as the barrel channel is molded for a varmint weight barrel. If you can live with the gap, which will aid in barrel cooling, go for it.

Have a question on Duramax stock. Bell and Carlson advertises their stocks to fit "any" short action or long action respective models of Savage. Will the Bell and Carlson (LA in my case) Duramax stocks take a center feed LA Stevens receiver?

From what i understand yes. The long action has never changed in length or at least it hasent recently.

I apologize for not being more specific. Will a LA Center Feed drop into the Duramax stock or is there a bunch of work to do on the stock?

As long as its a long action stock, any long action Savage will fit it without any work. You may want to come back & clearance or float the action, especially the rear tang to acheive the best groups that you can. You`ll do this with any stock out there, so dont think its a Duramax only deal. By the way, there excellent stocks for the money!
