Bought a barrel from Rosco here on this Forum. Bought a couple boxes of factory ammo. Worked through some bugs but this thing is starting to shoot pretty good. Last three groups were sub-moa best .5". Also, a buddy brought over his bore scope and we looked at the rifling of both the XC and the factory take-off barrel. It was night and day, the XC hand lapped rifling was impressive.

I installed a 6.5 Creedmoor X-Caliber barrel on my build as well, glad to see yours is working out for you, did you get the 26" Heavy Palma with the threaded end?

Yup,
Thing is heavy but that was to be expected. Having fun with this Savage, didn't know how easy they're to work on until I got this one, obviously my first but not my last.

Just to maintain perspective and not a knock on XC.

I have one, its better than the Savage (finish wise inside) not as good as the Shilen finish wise inside.

They all shoot good, the variable is my shooting and quality of the reloads (working on improving that)

Ease of cleaning confirms it.

Savage is hardest, XC is in between and the Shilen is the easiest.

I get scared when they don't copper - up just a little. I've read that if that's the case, the bore is oversized by lapping.

No knock against anyone by the way. My experience is limited to factory, Lilja, Hart, PacNor, and X-cal. All seem to get the job done.

why not run anti-copper powders...running cfe 223 in a rifle of mine and it's silly how easy it cleans up. i'm assuming the endurons are just as good.
