I am looking for a Single Shot Savage 110 action. Don't see them advertised, so I have started hanging out in pawn shops and Auction Arms. I have posted "WANTED" ads here with no results. Somebody has to have a safe queen that need exercising.

To the best of my knowledge, Save never made a single shot long action (target). All are short action.

This is the closest you will come

http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/112MagnumTarget

Buy the gun, take the barrel off, sell it, buy and install a 30-06 barrel and the 30-06 bolt head and you are good to go!

I estimate under $1500. (note: precludes tools or Gun Smith)

They did make a single shot. Here's a link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B236Cc8eRH-ReGxiaHVoYnFvb2s/view?usp=drivesdk) to mine.

I will have to get into my security protocols as its rejecting it.

Do you have any details as to SN, date etc?

It would be great to find one. So Model ID as well.

The only one I've ever seen was in 220 Swift,so I'm thinking that was a long action.

I have 4 of them. 2 were originally 220 swift in laminate stocks and 2 were .223 in polymer stocks. Still have one in the 220 configuration but the other 3 wear different setups now.

I have one that started life as a 112fvss in 22-250. One of my favorite shooters.

Contacted Savage a while back and the only thing they could tell me was that the receiver was pre 1995, and any other information would be available through their historical department, but I have yet to contact them (must be done in writing). Serial number: F49**** Currently the bolt has a 223 size head, but a magnum head is being made for it at PTG.

From 1988 to 1997 all calibers were built on long actions, including the 112 single shot. They are not rare, it's just nobody wants to part with them. In late 97 the model 10/12 short actions came out, including a single shot version. In 2001 the single shot version was discontinued for that year, both long and short versions.

Fred,

Darn, I am trying to get somebody to part with one. No luck yet! You were supposed to say they were no good, shot patterns and who could possible want a single shot!

Hope you and Lisa are well.
