Putting together a striker in 204 Ruger. I'm thinking 16-17'' barrel, using 32 gr. v-max, before I cut it like to hear from anyone with experience with a short barrel 204 ruger, powder, Velocity, accuracy

Every different cartridge I have played with all loose about 25fps per inch of barrel. I have no experience specifically with the 204. But it isn't much different than a 223.

Got the .204 ruger put together, barrel cut at 17", headspaced and crowned. Sighted it in with some factory ammo no recoil to speak of but it jumped around a bit, added some weight to factory stock, will get back to the range this week to chronograph some loads. 26822683

I have almost exactly what you are contemplating. I have a Striker action with a Savage Model 12 in Ruger .204. My barrel is just under 14". This is mounted on a laminate thumb hole stock, with a right hand thumb hold. The bolt is left handed...
it is quite heavy, and I wouldn't want to lug it around chasing prairie dogs. but the weight is ok on a bench.

I have only shot factory loads at this point, but I will work up some loads on the bench, and I'll share.
