Varmint/Target Accutrigger - 1.5 lb lowest that it can go?

I want to put the varmint/target trigger in my 11 .308. Is 1.5lbs the highest the trigger will go? I hunt with the rifle and don't really want it lower than 2 lbs. Right now the lowest that it will go is 3.5 lbs.

can an I put the target trigger in and adjust the tension to bring it up to 2 lbs?

I think changing to the target trigger requires the target sear also.

The Accutrigger varmint spring will get you down to around 1.5# up to 2.5# in my experience.

Don't mix up the 3 trigger types.

If you want to have a heavier pull, then get a Hunter Acu spring (or PM me and I will send you one)

My apologies, I meant the spring. I have the 11 Trophy Hunter XP so I'll need the varmint spring? Or can I use the one from Gunshack, part number SAV105270?

Also, what grease is on the sear? It's gray and looks like it's either moly grease or a graphite type grease.

Don't worry about greasing the sear or any part of the trigger mechanism.

The installation video for the Rifle Basix SAV2 says to use just a tiny bit of light grease on the sear engagement. The sear engagement on the SAV2 can be adjusted down to a few thousandths, so they probably say this to keep it from wearing down to nothing prematurely. I usually use STOS and apply it with the pointed end of a toothpick.

I've never really looked at the sear engagement on the Accutrigger. Since this is a hunting rifle, you might want to spread the remaining grease to ensure the engagement is lubricated.

No ide aon grease, I use CLP if I am going to lube or a synthetic as it does not stick in cold weather.

I don't' know abut Gun Shack, my Varmint Trigger springs came from NSS. Work per the same as the OEM Savage.

I would assume Gun Shack is the same but can't confirm, but that is all you need is a Varmint Sear Spring and it will go to 1.5 lbs. You then can't go any higher than 2.5.

Mine are all bench rest so its ok. I preferred a heavier one for a hunting trigger. Savage hunter spring would be the right range for that in my experience
