Purchased a 220 last fall sighted in with acutip slugs and shoots pretty well, but am thinking it could do better if I put on a different ( laminated) stock and bed it in.. is there any other ideas that are diy things and not too expensive? Just want a really good deer slug gun.. I have a Nikon bdc scope to go on it . Don't have a lot of experience working on firearms but am wanting to get into it...

The stock is the weak link on these guns so replacing it with a quality laminate stock definitely isn't going to hurt anything, but it will add some weight to an already heavy gun. It's been my experience with slug guns are much like rimfire rifles in that you have to find the ammo yours likes the best.

thanks,, I went and picked up a real nice boyds thumb hole.. for a total novice like myself it went quite easy.. everything came off and right into place on the new one.. do you suggest bedding in a slug gun or pillars??looking forward to warmer weather to shoot it again..
