Used a Shilen prefit on another build but thought I would go with a Criterion and try it on the next one. Well it is done and finally got to shoot it some. Its a keeper 25 rounds through it for barrel break in and sight in the new scope..
Proof is in the pudding as they say.

Savage 11 was a .243 now a 6.5x47 lapua
28" bull
Hs Precision Stock and Accurate Mag bottom metal

.26 center to center 3 shots 200 yards.

I have one in 260 Remington that shoots too. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another barrel from CBI...

At 200 yards that's my shooting at 100 on a real good day.

hand loads or factory?

I would like to see 5.

its factory lapua ammo 123gr scenars.. 5 shots I always jinks it and pull one lol. I will pry do 5 shot groups doing load development for this gun but most time for my bigger guns I just do 3 shots.

I never did more than 3 for hunting.

Target wise I do 5 and often pull one of those. Great feeling though when you get a 3/8 5 shot group.

Sometimes if I have spare rounds or ticked at a flyer I will shoot the next 9 and measure that. If I can get 5/8 out of it I try to break my arm patting myself on the back.

Next step will be to start doing 10 shots. The experts say that's the real test though I think its not the gun but the shooter being able to be perfectly consistent for 10 shots. It sure don't take much to open up a nice 3/8 group to 3/4.
